Matchbook Betting Exchange - AML & RG Analyst

The AML & RG Analyst is an essential part of both the Compliance Team and the business as a whole. The AML & RG Analyst primarily helps to protect customers who show signs and behaviours of problem gambling and conducts due diligence reviews on our customers. Ensuring the company adheres to Social Responsibility regulations, AML regulations and regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Analyst role will conduct day-to-day monitoring and identification of customers, advising colleagues, and some varied Compliance work. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform enhanced due diligence reviews of new and existing customers and ensure all findings are correctly recorded and reported to the MLRO
  • Investigate problem gambling patterns of customers who have been flagged and action accordingly
  • Identify potential at risk behaviours through in-depth reviews of customer activity
  • Conduct appropriate detailed interactions via phone and/or email with customers while documenting thoroughly
  • Carry out affordability checks to supplement responsible gambling assessments taking into account source of funds and wealth
  • Liaise with customers and Account Managers, ensuring that standards are met, and customer experience is considered
  • Work closely with other teams across the business to manage the responsible gambling aspects of customers
  • Maintain the responsible gambling log and records for internal use and regulatory purposes
  • Supply any statistics or information for internal reports and regulatory returns
  • Work with the Compliance Manager on matters for regulatory queries and inspections
  • Champion and up-skill fellow colleagues on responsible gaming best practices

Role Requirements:

  • An ability to communicate succinctly and clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong documentation and analytic skills
  • Being proactive in AML matters (updates, training, news, projects, suggestions)
  • An ability to work autonomously while ensuring the Compliance Manager and the team is updated
  • Ability to work in a cohesive and collaborative team
  • An understanding of AML regulatory frameworks
  • An understanding of Social Responsibility legislation  
  • Accuracy and amazing attention to detail

Working Hours:

  • Evening work as well as weekend work are required for this role
